Brief Bible Readings for Busy People

These 28 study guides are based on the 28 Brief Bible Readings for Busy People inside the book How to Give Bible Readings, prepared by the Home Missionary Department of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. Published originally in 1930 by the Review and Herald Publishing.

Each guide uses a chain of verses that are referenced in a specific order to help give clarity and context. It has very minimal commentary so that you can do your own self-reflection and discovery of the verses. Many times the Bible explains itself if you just know where to look. So these guides aim to help point you where in the Bible you might find answers, and related verses that help give context to the bible question at hand.

28 Bible Studies cover, topic list, and easy study format

With each group of verses, there are probing questions to help you consider what is being said. Each verse in the study is linked to an online Bible, should you want to check the context of the verses around it. Also, allowing verification of what scripture says, as well as purity of a study based only on the Bible.

The Adventist church originally published these guides alongside a training manual to help believers learn how to help non-Christians study the Bible. But also to provide materials to help spread the word of God. Many times Christians might understand the Bible themselves very well, but not be educated in how to talk and study with non-believers. So these studies are made to 1) provide the relevant Bible verses about common Bible topics, and 2) help break down and organize the verses in the best order and flow for understanding what they mean in context. This then makes these guides ideal also for personal, individual Bible studies, and in small groups.

Interestingly these guides are also the same ones used by Cyril Grossé for helping his co-worker, the now well-known Adventist Roger J. Morneau. Who was at the time steeped in a satanic cult praying for a way out. These were the answer to his prayer. I pray they also help you find the truth and hope in Jesus Christ.
